Ten years ago, Dr. Sabine Bruckert founded the Dermis Skin Clinic in Bülach, which is currently represented at five locations in Switzerland.
The founder and medical director at Dermis was a senior physician at the dermatology clinic at Zurich University Hospital for many years.
She knows from experience that there are various measures that should be taken to detect and prevent skin cancer at an early stage.
Tip no. 1: Pay careful attention to the first changes in your skin
It is important to paycloseattention to initial changes in your skin, as skin cancer is one of the most common skin problems in Switzerland.
A distinction must be made between white and black skin cancer, which appear and behave differently on the skin – and are often difficult to recognize.
Tip no. 2: Inform yourselfin good timeand have a skin checkcarried outby a dermatologist
To minimize the risk of skin cancer, it is important to have regular check-ups.
Individual predisposition also plays a major role.
People with a light skin type or a family history should be particularly vigilant.
Therefore, even as a young person, seek advice from your doctor and find outaboutyour personal risk factors.
Tip no. 3: Avoid direct UV radiation andprotectyourself from the sun – not just during the summer vacations!
The skin is the body’s largest organ.
It should beprotecteddaily with a medically recommended sun care product with a high sun protection factor (SPF) as well as suitable body and head coverings and sunglasses.
This not only prevents skin cancer, but also premature ageing of the skin.
